Homewood won the 2000 International Championship in Orlando, Fla. with a 44-38 title-game victory over the Chicago Washington Jaguars.

2003 record: 25-2.

Homewood (25-2) fourth at International

    Despite setting an all-time record for victories with 25 straight to open the season, Homewood (25-2) suffered a pair of Final Four losses to finish in fourth place in the 35th annual International Tournament in Orlando, Florida.
   Homewood 45, Marquette Best 39- Donell Cooper scored 10 points and had three assists and Tyler Crisman collected seven points to lead the Vikings to the opening round victory. T.J. Malone and Judah Gill each added six points, while Gill also ripped down seven rebounds and Lorenzo Franklin had nine rebounds.
   Homewood 42, Highwood Heat 31- The Vikings jumped to a 14-0 lead and then held off a late charge to reach their second Final Four of the new millennium. Cooper's 11 points paced the attack, while Dominique King added nine points and Franklin had nine points and five rebounds. T.J. Malone made three steals.
   St. Rocco 52, Homewood 40- The Vikings bounced back from a 9-0 deficit to take a lead, but couldn't recover from a 2-for-12 effort at the foul line. Cooper tallied 10 points, Franklin scored nine and Ray Gregory added seven to pace the offense.
   Chicago And 1 38, Homewood 37- The Vikings took a lead on Crisman's free throws in the final minute after a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit, but And 1 hit two charities with 12 seconds left to avenge an earlier 27-point loss. Gill topped Homewood with 10 points and five rebounds, Franklin and Malone both added six points and Cooper had three steals.

              Annual golf outing highly successful
     Homewood Area Small Fry hosted another successful Golf Outing on Sunday, Aug. 17 at Deer Creek Golf Course. The field of more than 60 included friends, staff and alumni. The event used a best-ball scramble for the first time.
     Following is a list of 2003 Golf Outing prize winners:
1st place (10-under, tie): Brian Essig, Neil Trainor, Dick Schluter, Walt Shipman AND Craig Andrichik foursome.
Closest to the pin: Dr. Joe Hamann.
Longest putt: Sonny Pascarella.
